Day 35 - Welshpool - Sat 14th May

I woke early, feeling like a king and was slowly inspired to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

For navigation so far, I've been downloading OS gpx files and then switching the phone to airplane mode to conserve battery. Despite this, the phone battery has been burning through in about 90 mins of constant use - slightly longer if the route has been easy to follow without reference to the phone. Knowing that the next few days are going to be significantly more remote, I've been concerned as to how the phone and reserve power back will perform.

Today, I followed doctor's orders and rested my left foot. It being difficult to relax the left without resting the right, I had a quiet sleepy day.

In the afternoon, it was lovely to meet up with my lovely sis, TT for a coffee as she was passing through Welshpool on her way up to North Wales.

After supper I went to hear a male voice choir practicing near the Town Hall and on the way got distracted by a song thrush
and then got talking to Casper from
Warsaw on his Bajaboard - a remote control, motorised skateboard with suspension and front and rear lights. Impressive!  Casper lives in Welshpool with his brother and family and commutes for an hour to work in Bala. He was returning home from a long afternoon on the board.

The male voice choir retired to the bar downstairs and sang their hearts out.

Toes looking and feeling much better.
