Day 31 - Hay-on-Wye

What!? Another rest day!?!?

Last night over supper at The Three Tuns, I could barely stay awake. In fairness to them, their Italian chef was doing their best to tickle my palate with delicious bruschetta, antipasti and fantastic bolognese pasta but despite their ministrations, there were moments when my senses closed down and I realised I must have been having micro-sleeps.
Knackered, it was early to bed and I had THE best sleep of the walk so far.

Parts of my little toe have become an interesting crimson red so first call this morning was at the local chemist's shop where I met the very caring and particularly helpful Sarah and Di,  pharmacists at R M Jones, Pharmacy in High Town.
After the application of some tlc and armed with iodine and unctures I crossed the street for a coffee at The Cosy Cafe where the seats had tempting sheepskin blankets.

Following Di the pharmacist's advice I'm sticking to light duties giving me plenty of time to look around the town.

There was the castle
lots of inviting streets.....
Some lovely cars.....
....and books and books and books
and another good supper at The Three Tuns where the troops of Cockermouth and Holland had also amassed.

Sleep!........
